Me Mark Page... in the wars.

It seems that my Achilles heel is my Achilles heel.

Hi Me Mark Page here. So there I was playing football, 2 minutes to go, running for the ball, nobody near me and "crack!" I thought I'd been hit by a sniper but it was just my tendon snapping- that's all. So an operation and a few days in hospital later I'm back on the airwaves at Perth FM. So my radio resumes, but has my football career ended before it ever took off?

Here's a picture of my red leg.

CLIC Sargent:

CLIC Sargent was formed in 2005 after a successful merger between CLIC and Sargent Cancer Care for Children. Both had a rich history of excellent care and support and together are stronger and more effective providing more for more children and young people with cancer and their families.

Fair City Fitness!

The first Fair City Fitness Challenge is taking place on Saturday 30th May on Perth High Street and Perth FM will be there!

The event involves teams of up to 4 people cycling the distance from High Street to Big Ben in London on 2 top of the range stationary bikes. Teams will be allocated 1 hour and the total distance covered by the participants will go towards our overall target. The emphasis of the event is to have fun, get fit and raise money for a great cause!

Rachel House is Scotland's first children's hospice and they care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and also support their families. The children's hospice is a home from home offering a place where families can relax, recharge their batteries and have fun with their children. Expert care is on hand to help them make the most of each day and live life to the full.

They are looking for teams of workmates/friends/gym buddies to come and take part in this great challenge and help reach a target of £2000. The challenge is suitable for all levels of fitness and for those who like a bit of competition, this is an opportunity to test your fitness against your friends and colleagues. For businesses taking part, the event will help improve team spirit and some light relief from the pressures of work.

Pete Wishart MP will launch the event and Perth FM will be there in the morning interviewing those involved and taking part.

Participation in the event will cost £100 per team and can be paid either on the day before taking part or through www.justgiving.com/faircitychallenge. Cheques should be made payable to CHAS

Check out http://www.stevenbonthrone.com and clock on the poster there for more information from the event organiser!

St Johnstone Bus our highlights!

Now up on youtube is a video edit of some Perth FM footage from the ST Johnstone open-top bus tour. Not bad for something filmed with a dinky camera!

St Johnstone Open Top Bus Tour

Last night (Tuesday 12th May) Perth FM were there, broadcasting from the bus, the route and from the council chambers as Perth celebrated St Johnstone's championship win this season.

Me Mark Page was in control of the PA system, as the Provost, Derek McInnes and Kevin Rutkiewicz were then able to address the crowd and thank them for their support. We were excited to be a part of an event as big as this and thank St Johnstone and PKC for their support.

Photos are now up on our gallery page and we are working on a video edit of the event which includes footage from the bus, as well as from the balcony of the Council Chambers and inside the civic reception. Look out for that in the next few days, we have a lot of footage to wade through!

Don't forget, this Saturday is the premiere of our St Johnstone special. One full hour of interviews with players, management and fans as we continue with our unwavering support of our home team! Tune into 106.6 at 1pm on Saturday to hear it. And if you miss it you can catch it again, Sunday at 6pm and Monday at 6pm.

Well done, Saints and we're all excited for next season in the SPL!

St Johnstone Promotion Special

Join Perth FM in congratulating our favourite football team winning the 1st Division Championship and promotion to the SPL for next season!

We'll be with the team as they parade through Perth on an open-top bus tour from 7.15pm on Tuesday 12th May as well as having eyes on the streets, mingling with the crowds. The tour will take in many streets on the way to Perth Concert Hall (which you can see by visiting the official St Johnstone website) where it will pick up the Provost and Lady Provost and head to 2 High Street with the help of Perth and District Pipe Band. Saints players will then display the trophy from the balcony to everyone gathered below.

We'll then be broadcasting live from the Council Chambers as Perth and Kinross Counil hold a civic reception in St Johnstone's honour.

It's been 7 years since the Saints were in the SPL, and Perth hasn't had a chance to show their support like this since Alex Totten took Saints up in the early 90s.

And don't forget to stay tuned later on in the week as we air a St Johnstone Special, with interviews from players, Derek McInnis and Geoff Brown. We may even play 'We are the Champions' as well!
